Since 2001 up to current date, Dr. Taqi Khalaf has been providing his services to the community through his clinic located in Al Hakeem Medical Centre in Salmaniya area. Dr. Taqi Khalaf is a highly experienced consultant ophthalmic surgeon specialized in the treatment of Glaucoma, and Cataract. He has all essential licenses and multiple qualifications; In addition to Arab Board, he holds the FRCS from Glasgow and from Edinburgh. He has practiced at the United Kingdom and later at the Salmaniya Medical Centre (SMC) in the Kingdom of Bahrain before establishing his own private specialized ophthalmology clinic.
His rich experience in ophthalmology, in conjunction with a forward-looking customer-centric business model have allowed the clinic to rapidly grow a large and loyal customer base both from the Kingdom of Bahrain and the neighbouring GCC countries.
The facility could not comfortably welcome the fast-growing numbers of visiting patients, neither can it accommodate all the machinery and equipment required to develop and improve upon.
Dr. Taqi moved to Al Manal Eye Hospital (Day Case Eye Hospital) replacing the previous small clinic. It is a 4-bed hospital with facilities for OPD, Major & Minor Operation Theatres, Laser Room, OCT and Visual Fields. Highly professional Consultant Ophthalmologists provide their services to the community such as Dr. Taqi Khalaf, Dr. Imad Hamzah, Dr. Mohammed Shaker Al Omran, Dr. Reema Al Shabib, Dr. Maryam Al Mohsin and Dr. Khatoon Ali. Appropriate state of the art equipment is provided to the hospital, which is able to treat up to 100 patients in OPD daily and perform more than 20 major surgeries per week. The hospital is in line with the Medical Tourism Vision for The Kingdom of Bahrain as we intend to have visiting International Ophthalmic Surgeons, conduct continuous medical education activities, and serve both the local community and visitors from GCC countries.
